The Lithium Triangle

Coproduction MiB (Belgium) AVIVA Films (France)

The La Puna region is a huge plateau at 4,000 metres above sea level on the border between Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.

The triangle is mainly made up of fossil salt lakes; the Salar d’Uyuni in Bolivia, the Salar d’Atacama in Chile and the Salar de Hombre Muerto in Argentina.

It is in the heart of this triangle that lies a huge treasure: lithium, 80% of the planet’s reserves, a natural wealth that could bring the various countries and their local populations a better and easier life, but which could also endanger and threaten the difficult balance between the populations, nature and the survival of the whole region.
