Jeanne (33), the daughter of a fishing couple, is a social worker deeply committed to her job. A mother to six-year-old Albertine, she is married to Pierrot, the son of the pharmacist in the small seaside town where they live. But her marriage is falling apart, and one day, Pierrot suddenly vanishes.

After days of searching and waiting, she finally follows the advice of her friend Claire and reports his disappearance to the police. Following her statement, she initially finds herself under suspicion, as it turns out her husband is involved in various types of trafficking.

Left alone with mounting debts and struggling to cope, she accepts a part-time job at the nursing home where Claire works. Balancing her social work, her life as a mother, and her emotional distress, Jeanne fights to keep her head above water. Gradually, through new encounters and shared experiences, she discovers untapped inner strength that will allow her to stand her ground.
